Hello everybody,
One of the reasons I so rarely post anymore, is that I didn't like the fact that all my posts were me whining all the time. So anyway here I am about to whine about how much work I have to do. I have been in Practicum for about six weeks now and I suck, I mean whiff it up at the ole lesson planning. To be fair I have to prep two three hour lesson plans a day, and not how I might want to prep the lesson, no I have to impress my sponsor teacher and faculty adviser even if I disagree with them. (Which is quite a bit) So I prep and teach lessons that I dislike, or worse don't feel good about and that makes a hard job even harder. On top of that I have to mark about an hour and a half a night on average on top of a commute that is upwards of an hour each way in a car that every morning threatens to break down, but I don't have the time or money to fix.Oh yeah and I work on the weekends. So fast forward six weeks, I am on Spring break, a time to relax regroup and feel good about me. No instead I get a call from the ole University on Monday, some marking I agreed to do back in November has been plunked on my lap. It took til Tuesday afternoon to get them, 64 papers and can we have them by the end of the week please. I marked for like six hours yesterday and got fifteen finished....
So today I have to go to Vernon, do four weeks of unit planning , mark papers, go to a family dinner, meet up with the prof. Work on Saturday and Sunday. Do transcriptions for my other job and try to not feel overwhelmed.
All so I can maybe get a part time job as a T.O.C. next year....
